Test 1

Our first test of the winch was a vehicle recovery. In a sand bottom water crossing a two wheel drive Nissan almost stock lost traction and buried itself with water past the doors. The only winching point to go forward was on a quick sand channel. After watching another vehicle attempt and break a strap our winch was put into use. The distance from the Jeep to the Nissan was approx. 30 to 40 feet. The winch cable was attached and pulling began. The Jeep was put into reverse and the tires began to dig then spin in the sand giving us no traction. The winch had no problem pulling the Nissan out without major aid from the Jeep. We were very impressed with this as was the club gathered around to watch their member get recovered.

Test 2

Our second test was to see how well the winch did in a solo recovery. We drove the Jeep down into a mud pit in 2wd, stopped the Jeep then stepped on the gas, reversed, and repeated this until we were stuck then attempted to get unstuck any way possible by driving. After all attempts failed the winch was attached to a tree and winching began. The distance to get up hill and out of the pit was about 50 feet. The winch had no problems getting the Jeep unstuck, and no problems getting the Jeep up the hill out of the pit. No major overheating or stalling occurred.

Conclusion

Since our tests we have used our winch in multiple of situations and never once has it failed on us in any way. This winch has saved us and others lots of times and has had no functional problems at all. We have pulled out numerous of vehicles, just to name a few; Jeeps, K5, FS Bronco, Samurai, Montero, Chevy Pickup. We have not once had a lack of power issue and we have put it through tough situations were recovery was at a major angle.
